About Goodfellow Occupational Therapy
John E. Goodfellow, owner and Occupational Therapist, opened Goodfellow Occupational Therapy in 1999 and continues to serve the Central Valley. Goodfellow Occupational Therapy is a private pediatric occupational therapy, and school- based practice serving kids from birth-21 years that has been serving communities to help children and their families “live life to its fullest”.
We envision that Goodfellow Occupational Therapy will be recognized as the premier provider of occupational therapy services in Central California by providing quality therapy, using evidence-based interventions and guiding child-centered practice.
Goodfellow Occupational Therapy strives is to provide innovative therapeutic intervention for children with functional, mental and developmental limitations, with the aim of improving children’s areas of occupation and function in the areas of: activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure and social participation. We have staff with specialized training and certification including Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Handwriting Without Tears (HWT), Astronaut Training, The SOS Approach to Feeding, Beckman Oral Motor, Therapeutic Listening, The Alert Program, Zones of Regulation, etc.. Therapy is provided in natural and child-friendly settings, and our therapists stay current on recent research to best provide evidence-based treatment.
Whether our staff is in the clinic, CCS or out at a school site, they work to improve the lives of children and their families by promoting independence in childhood occupations. Through consultation and assessment, we determine what is needed and provide recommendations, strategies, and treatment interventions that best match each child’s individual needs.
